What I got for my 17th Birthday

It was me (Hayley) and Kirsty's birthday on Friday! So here are a few presents I received.
Firstly, Our main present was driving lessons! We both had one on our birthday and let me just say I really really really enjoyed it, despite being a bit nervous. I absolutely LOVE steering!
Another present which isn't in the pics above is..... LITTLE MIX CONCERT TICKETS! Caitlin from EatSleep&Fashion surprised us with this! Thank you very much Caitlin! We all have been wanting to see them live for a few years now! Oh an she also made us Ferrero Rocher cupcakes which are DELICOUS!!!!!
From Kirsty I received a Kate Spade 'Tickle the Ivories' band! I am thinking about doing a post about this later on, so keep your eyes out for that post! I did not expect this at all and can I just say the box it comes in is gorgeous!
From my older sister Zoe, I got a fashion book from Topshop! It has snippets of designers which is great because I get to learn about designers I may not know about!
I also got a tiny smash box eye shadow, duo palette which contains a matte pinky/light brown colour and a glittery pinky colour...soz not that great at describing colours. I also got the soap and glory kohl eyeliners which are amazingly pigmented! Finally, I got the soap and glory XXL Pillow plump lipgloss. This is supposed to make your lips look bigger! I love the colour of this lipgloss!
All in all I am going to do more posts about these products individually so keep your eyes out for a makeup look, accessories post and maybe a book review?!

The Body Shop

Firstly we are sorry for being gone about a month, college assignments and work had taken over. But hopefully now we will be sticking to our schedule to post again every Wednesday and Saturday.
So its exactly a month to Christmas and its 2 days to our birthday wooooooop!!!! Anyway todays post is going to be a review of 5 products I was given from The Body Shop to wear at work. As you have probably worked out now I work at The Body Shop, I am only a Christmas Temp but fingers crossed I get kept on. It's so much fun everyone is so nice and The Body Shop truly treat there staff very kindly, hence why I got given 5 free products.
Starting of with their new foundation-Fresh Nude Foundation. This foundation  is made up with great properties including rose water which makes it smell lovely and creates a gorgeous glow to the skin. I find this foundation lovely when you want your skin to look healthy and fresh. To apply this foundation I use my fingers, it works really well and its nice and quick. I don't actually wear this foundation to work because It means I would have to powder during my shifts. But I love it for those days when you don't really fancy wearing much makeup but want something to make you look alive. The coverage is medium you can build it up however I just use concealer on the areas I want more coverage.
Next I chose a shimmer waves in the number 02. So a shimmer waves is a shimmery blush/highlight. I LOVE this product so much. On top of the fresh nude foundation you just look so fresh faced. Its beautiful! I use the 2 light shades as a highlight, catching it in the light it looks even prettier. You cannot go wrong with this palette especially as it works just as good as eye shadows.
Moving onto eyes I picked up one of the shimmer cubes. These are amazing so pretty and work wet or dry. Either way they both look just as lovely. I love this palette because you can create either a natural eye or build it up to be smoky. I love wearing it as a smoky eye that's why I also picked up the duo eye definer in the brown colour. I apply this to my waterlines and blend out with a small brush. I have been enjoying this recently because it reminds me of Cheryl Fernandez makeup. And who doesn't want to try and look like Cheryl.
Lastly I was recommended one of the colour crush lipsticks in the shade 240. This colour is gorgeous its a winter purple- best way I can describe it. Its not matte but I would say it is a satin finish. These lipsticks do last a long time however talking to customers 24/7  on a shift does make it come of so I wear a lip liner on underneath.
That's everything for todays post- I hope I have made you all want to visit a Body Shop store now. These products would make good stocking fillers!

American Makeup Haul- Part 2

1.) Lipsticks! Now my main priority was to buy lipsticks whilst in America. This is due to the fact I LOVE lip products! So what I had brought lip wise in America is listed below:
Milani 'Black Cherry'- This dark plum colour is perfect for those wintery days.
Milani 'Plumrose'- This is an every day pinky/nude shade.
Milani 'Matte Passion'- I bought this because it looks similar to Kendall Jenner's limited edition lipstick with Estee Lauder.
Milani lipgloss 'Bare Secret'- This is great for an everyday lip.
Revlon 'Black Cherry'- yes I know the Milani one looks the exact same and has the same name but what can I say I love dark lipsticks?!
Elf nude lip balm- This is sheer but a nice formula for the lips.
Wet 'n' wild 'Think Pink'
Sephora lip crème 'Already Red'
Elf 'Rich Red' lipstick
Now onto the base, I only bought 1 foundation which was the Covergirl 3 in 1.
For the cheeks I bought Milani blush in the colour 'Luminoso' and Physicians Formula Argon Oil blush which is 'exotic blushing glow'. For bronzer I bought a palette that comes in four shades from Elf.

For the eyes I bought the Covergirl clump crusher mascara and a eyeshadow palette from Wet 'n' Wild which is called Walking on Eggshells.
That is all I bought from America excluding a lot of Key rings from all the places we went to!

American Makeup Haul-Part 1

As you can tell from the photos above, that when I was in America I bought just a bit of makeup! Most of it though was from the drugstore, only 2 bits where from Sephora. Which I must say would be the perfect heaven. And plus when you are from Britain you need to take advantage of the American prices for makeup and all of the many more things they have!

From Sephora I purchased:
Tarte Amazonian clay 12hr blush-Fearless
Sephora Lipcream- Already Red

CVS and Walgreens:
Physicians Formula Argon Oil Blush-Exotic Blushing Glow
Milani Baked Blush-Luminoso
Milani Lipstick-Black Cherry
Milani Matte Lipstick-Kiss
CoverGirl 3 in 1 Foundation-805
CoverGirl Clump Crusher-Black Brown (Mainly because Ellie LOVES it)
Wet 'n' Wild Eyeshadow Palette-Comfort Zone
Wet 'n' Wild Lipstick-Think Pink
Loreal Infallible eyshadow-Amber rush
Loreal True Match-W2
Elf Matte Lip Color-Rich Red
Elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer-Clear
Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream-Milan
EOS Handcream-Cucumber

We have missed last weeks post because Jetlag had its toll as well as the fact we started college the day after we arrived back from America. So there will be part 2 coming tomorrow. Also, starting Tuesdays for the next 6 weeks there will be posts of each state we visited in the US! The series will be called 'Tuesday Travels'. So there will be 3 posts a week for the next 6 weeks.

Makeup Idols

For me, being makeup obsessed isn't just about the products, I have many favourite makeup artists that inspire me for my future career. They make me want to be successful in being a makeup artist. So here are 3 of my favourites. But warning you now they are all kind of similar because their style of makeup is my favourite.

Adam Burrell
Adam is by far my favourite makeup artist of all time! His style is what I prefer, modern and striped back. I like the fact its striped back because then you are just making the person feel more confident in themselves without changing their facial features all together. You work with what you have and just enhance their natural features. The other style of his work is very creative and theatrical, the salute music video from Little Mix explains this! Adam is well known for being Little Mix's makeup artist. But he is also a Barry M ambassador which is the best thing because he creates looks you can recreate easily because the products are affordable. Little Mix aren't the only celebrity's he has/does work with. For the last season on X-Factor he maked up Mel B for every show! I feel like I could write about his beautiful work for pages so I will stop here otherwise this post will be very big haha.
Lisa Eldridge
Lisa has a signature look which is natural and fresh but has the skills to do any look-ranging from a catwalk to Kim Kardashian West - when she is in London. She has a book coming out in October called 'Face Paint' I cannot wait for this release! Lisa works for Lancôme and is always in Paris or she is making up celebrity's for the red carpet, working on magazine shoots and lots more. Lisa has a YouTube channel which is so great when you want to try and be as good as her (keyword-TRY)!
Monika Blunder
Monika is based in Los Angeles and works with many celebrities like Rosie Huntington Whitely, Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, Jennifer Lawrence etc. Just like Lisa, Monika also has a YouTube channel which again is great for the same reasons as Lisa. What I love about Monika is that she applies makeup to enhance natural features, foundation and concealer is light but covers where needed. The best word I can use to describe Monika's amazing work is Effortless.

Product Review's

Nars Creamy concealer- After hearing everyone on the internet talk about how much they love this concealer I had wanted to try it out. So after trying it for a month I can now give my overall opinion on it. I love the coverage the concealer gives and the colour is actually lighter then my skin so I can highlight under my eyes etc. But I do find that it does crease more less straight away however I have now found that using a loose powder underneath works wonders. I also really love the fact it feels like you have nothing on it's that light.

Barry M Lengthening Showgirl Mascara- LOVE for only £4.99 you can't go wrong! It's brilliant because it doesn't make your lashes look clumpy or thick they look natural with the right amount of mascara on. I do put two coats on just to make them appear longer. The brush is plastic not hair but I am probably one of the small majority that prefer a plastic wand any day.

Mac Electric Cool Eye Shadow in Love Power- I picked this up in a outlet makeup shop and was drawn by this because I love the colour and the texture is so nice because it is so soft and buttery. I am not 100% sure whether this is a cream eye shadow or powder but either way it looks lovely on. For me I do find wearing an eye primer works best for this product because it lasts longer.

New: Newlook Makeup

I have had a voucher for Newlook since Christmas, every time I go in there I can never find anything. However, yesterday I didn't find anything clothes wise but I managed to come across the little makeup stand. Newlook have only just recently launched there new makeup line so I was intrigued to try some things. I picked up 3 lip pencils and 1 glitter eye shadow pencil. I must say, the lip pencils are really great. They last all day, I have been wearing the two red ones today and it still looks exactly the same as how it was this morning. Oh I almost forgot to mention they are only £1.99!!!! The eye shadow pencil is also really lovely, I have worn it just on its own as a sweep of colour over my lids. I love this look. However, on its own it does tend to crease so a good eye primer is needed.

Click here to see the makeup line.

Tanya Burr Cosmetic Haul

The first bank holiday of May I went onto FeelUnique.com and was very lucky to see that Tanya Burr had a 50% of everything so I took advantage of it and bought these 4 things:
Lipgloss-Champayne Toast
Lipgloss-Smile, Dream, Sparkle
Eyelashes-Pretty Lady
Eyelashes-Bambi Eyes
The reason I bought the lashes was because I have been wanting to try some out for a long time but always put it of because I couldn't be bothered. But I had no excuse when they only cost me £2.75 each. Tanya's lipglosses are also my favourite because the formula is perfect its not tacky/sticky like the Mac ones and they smell like strawberry laces! Why wouldn't you like that? The colour range is really great to. I will definitely be adding to my little collection! Go check out Tanya's collection because they are very affordable, fantastic products!
