Coconut Oil For Your Hair

This Coconut oil has been my best friend since Thursday as I had all my hair chopped of. (Don't worry I will feature my new hair on Wednesday) So this stuff is amazing for making your hair have that 'your so worth it' look. Do you get what I mean? Basically it gives a lovely sheen to my hair as if I have just been to the salon. But in fact I haven't, all I have done is squirt some into my hands and rubbed it in my hair. Oh, it also makes my hair frizz free which is a first. I love using this after I have straightened my hair as it finishes of the look. I absolutely love this and really recommend it. I haven't actually used half the bottle It was my mum's but she kindly gave it to me. You can get it from boots for £6.99 and if you are from America you can get it on amazon.

Under Pressure

Now, I was one of those people who had never had a headache before until Year 11. Being in Year 11 comes with so much pressure it is hard to control sometimes. We only have 5 weeks left until our first exam and that freaks us out so much to think there is no more chances after that. Pressure isn't healthy especially at this time so we have come up with ways to help feel more 'calm' in this certain situation. And it's also a reminder for us truthfully.

1. Schedules/To do list's-great to make you feel organized and not all over the place.
2. Have Time for yourself - Saturday's are our day off, we also have breaks when we get home and in between homework/revision.
3. Take a breather- sounds very similar to the one above but if you are ever in a situation where it is very overwhelming ask if you can step out for 5 minuets.
4. Drop the negatives- Basically stop letting the negative things around you get in your way, whether that being friends or the things that just gets you frustrated and annoyed. Trust me you don't need that extra pressure.
5.Don't lose motivation- this is the main one don't give up or lose motivation you will regret it on results day.

Even though unfortunately a letter seems to determine the rest of your life don't think that it's the end. Carry on controlling the pressure, best of luck.

Finally it's Spring-OOTD

Since the first week of January I was brave enough to go shopping in the ever so busy 'January sales' . Now I HATE sales, it must be the way they lay out the clothes but either way you would never see me hunting down clothes in them...Until Zara happened! I walked in wanting to look for some sophisticated joggers and BAM, right there in the sale area I saw the most b-e-a-utiful Khaki coloured relaxed trousers with drawstring (To which I was dreaming of!!!)I said to myself I would save them for spring because otherwise I would be freezing. So today is the day I could officially wear my heavenly trousers and to be honest I felt so comfortable and me (if that makes sense) as though I finally had style...I felt confident and unique!WOO :D So here you go...
Bottoms-Zara Trousers
Striped long sleeve top-New Look
Leather jacket- Topshop
Sunglasses-Topshop

Ooo I also did a cheeky fishtail!

1920s | Great Gatsby Inspired

(Pictures above were all found from Pinterest)

Being a lover of the Great Gatsby I wanted to recreate an inspired glammed up look from the 1920s. I think beauty around that time was very beautiful, they wore mostly dark reddish or nude lips with either a wing or grey toned eye shadow. The eyebrows were a lot more lighter and the base makeup was more like natural skin. The products I used were:
  • Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
  • Mac Prolongwear Concealer
  • Rimmel Stay Matte Powder
  • Body Shop honey bronzer
  • Naked 2 palette (Pistol, Verve and booty call)
  • Body Shop liquid eyeliner
  • Loreal Paris False Lash Architect mascara
  • Kate Moss 107 lipstick
I didn't wear anything on my lips for the first option I only wore my lip balm which was the baby lips clear one. For the hair all I did was curl it, then using a hair band I did a really loose ponytail and then used two butterfly clips and hid the pony and just pulled on my hair a little to make it give a bob affect. In the 1920s short hair was the thing, kind of like the trend at the moment.
I really enjoyed doing this post. I have been meaning to do it now for a long time as well as others from different eras which I have planned for so they are on my to do list.

A Hidden Gem

I love Mascara and I especially love trying out new ones so after receiving this from my mum's friend (don't worry she never used it because of the colour) I had to report back because this is AMAZING! Ok so this mascara is from Maybelline and it's called Lash Stiletto voluptuous. Unfortunately Maybelline don't sell this mascara in the UK but you can buy it from amazon. The reasons why this is my new favourite mascara are:
1. The colour. As you maybe able to tell in the photo this mascara is brown. I hadn't tried any brown mascara before until this one and I must say I think I prefer brown over black on me now but only for natural everyday wear. I just love how my lashes match my hair and eyebrows.
2.Defiantley adds volume and is lengthening. My lashes look so much longer and has more volume when I wear this mascara and it holds it like this for the whole day!
3. No clumps. It separates my lashes so they don't clump together which is what everyone looks for in a mascara right?
4. Easy to work with. Is it just me or do you find applying mascara on your bottom lashes hard because of the shape of your wand? Well I do and this mascara is so easy to apply mascara to both tops and bottom lashes.

I'm very surprised that no one has really come across this product before but if you are thinking of purchasing this now then do it right now - you will have no regrets.

Patience Is Key

After 3 Long hours slaving in the kitchen I actually came out with an unexpected result. If you know me well then you know that the kitchen is unfortunately not my forte. So I wanted to prove people wrong and make a Victoria sponge cake after people e.g Hayley and Caitlin doubting me. So look I did it and all I did was follow Davina's Sugar Free recipe. I think we can all now agree that I am the new 'Mary Berry'... Ok maybe I'm getting a little cocky. But I'm sure she would of loved my cake. Oh and because I just have the natural talent of cooking I made my own compote from the same book but changed the blueberries to strawberries. Here's a link to Davina's Sugar Free Book if you are interested in purchasing it.
