Makeup Idols

For me, being makeup obsessed isn't just about the products, I have many favourite makeup artists that inspire me for my future career. They make me want to be successful in being a makeup artist. So here are 3 of my favourites. But warning you now they are all kind of similar because their style of makeup is my favourite.

Adam Burrell
Adam is by far my favourite makeup artist of all time! His style is what I prefer, modern and striped back. I like the fact its striped back because then you are just making the person feel more confident in themselves without changing their facial features all together. You work with what you have and just enhance their natural features. The other style of his work is very creative and theatrical, the salute music video from Little Mix explains this! Adam is well known for being Little Mix's makeup artist. But he is also a Barry M ambassador which is the best thing because he creates looks you can recreate easily because the products are affordable. Little Mix aren't the only celebrity's he has/does work with. For the last season on X-Factor he maked up Mel B for every show! I feel like I could write about his beautiful work for pages so I will stop here otherwise this post will be very big haha.
Lisa Eldridge
Lisa has a signature look which is natural and fresh but has the skills to do any look-ranging from a catwalk to Kim Kardashian West - when she is in London. She has a book coming out in October called 'Face Paint' I cannot wait for this release! Lisa works for LancĂ´me and is always in Paris or she is making up celebrity's for the red carpet, working on magazine shoots and lots more. Lisa has a YouTube channel which is so great when you want to try and be as good as her (keyword-TRY)!
Monika Blunder
Monika is based in Los Angeles and works with many celebrities like Rosie Huntington Whitely, Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, Jennifer Lawrence etc. Just like Lisa, Monika also has a YouTube channel which again is great for the same reasons as Lisa. What I love about Monika is that she applies makeup to enhance natural features, foundation and concealer is light but covers where needed. The best word I can use to describe Monika's amazing work is Effortless.

The Finale

It is the end of a chapter. School is finally over! If you have read our blog for a while you would think I am repeating myself that "school is over". However, school is literally over, it is official We have received our results and now there is no need to go back So we decided this post would just be a link of all of our school posts so if anyone who reads this is seeking advice, specifically about year 11, then you can just click any post linked below that you desire to read. Also a link of school posts would be boring, so we are just going to write how we are feeling about the new chapter we are about to enrol and hopefully someone can relate to this post?

Firstly, we want to write about how we are both feeling for the next step in our life and the chapter that has now come to a close. The other day me and Kirsty were talking (obvs) and I said something that I thought was a good explanation of many young people in education. Which is, our whole life has been lived in a routine surrounded by familiar people who we have grown up with over time. Although we have been educated about English, maths, science , etc. We have not been taught what life is actually like...what is it like to not be in a routine? What it is like to be completely independent? What it is like to adventure into the real world? All our life to this point, we have been living in a cycle that never changes and now it is a chance that in a way we are reborn and have a chance to be who we want to be, we have a chance to make mistakes and learn from them and we have a chance to build proper friendships/relationships. It is strange to think that most 16 year olds only know the life we have been living which is waking up, going to school, come home, eat and then wait for the next school day. But now it is our time to adapt rather quickly to the real world. We have to adapt to rely on ourselves and not our parents to help us, we have to adapt to vast changes from going to a secondary school to a college and we have to adapt to not seeing our friends everyday. All of what I have said is actually quite daunting but incredibly exciting! We are excited to finally explore hidden places, we are excited to live spontaneously (the only spontaneous we can remember is in this post) we are excited to meet new people and we are excited to enter adulthood! We remember from our last assembly at school the teachers gave us a lot of advice about doing what we want and trying new things as you wont know unless you try, and about being happy. Those speeches they gave us really opened our eyes, that life should be about taking chances even if you do not know the outcome right away, you should make choices because you know you want to do it, never doubt what you think just go for it and if you do not like whatever that was then at least you do not regret not trying it in the first place. We only get one life so we should live it how we want to live it, not how others want us to live it! And that is our cue to stop our little speech....

The Necessities OOTD

This OOTD is based around staples you need in your wardrobe, crossed between a female painting her apartment in New York City (don't ask where that came from). Anyway, the white shirt is a must have, reliable piece anyone can/should have in their wardrobe. It is so versatile that it can be worn anywhere and at any occasion (only if you wear it appropriately to the occasion). The cropped jeans are also a must have due to them being denim so very durable and everyone NEEDS a pair of jeans in their wardrobe right? But the cropped part isn't a necessity....I just like it cropped. Then to make the outfit interesting and personalised I paired them with a patterned pair of flats to present my style and to make it my own outfit (if that makes sense?)
White shirt- Topshop
Cropped jeans- Topshop
Patterned flats- Public Desire
Watch- Next

Long Haul Travel Essentials

On Monday we will be on a plane so we thought we'd share with you what's in our travel bags.
1. Bag- to hold all of our essentials and duty free shopping!
2. Headphones- so we can listen to the films that we watch on the plane
3. Phone- because it is always gonna be an essential...duh?!
4. Sunglasses- because you know we will be in a foreign country and all, so we need to protect our eyes and all that jazz (can you feel our excitement?!)
5. Book: 'I'll give you the sun'- we both need to be entertained on the plane and for the past couple of months this book has been popping up to us as if to say we NEED to read it! Ellie also texted us a massive review on the story and said it was amazing so we are going by her judgement at the moment!
6. Sanctuary Moisturiser- so our faces are hydrated throughout the flight, ready to get our airport celeb poses photo-ready!
7. Purse- need to hold all our money ready for duty free and our dollarsssss!
8. Camera- we want to take cool pics of the stereotypical insta post of the sky and to hold memories for when we are older (cringe.... I know)
9. Notepad- considering it is a long haul flight we want to draft some blog posts so we are feeling productive even though we will be sat down binge watching movies.
10. Lipbalm- we don't want chapped lips now do we?
11. Jumper- just in case we get cold on the plane from the air conditioning. Don't want to be getting Reynolds (purple hands, which we both suffer from) or anything do we?
12. Food and Water- now food is probably the only thing that will get us through the long haul flight, making us feel busy with our jaws exercersing I call it the jaw pull ups...banter!
13. Travel Bands and travel sickness tablets- just in case!
14. Eleanor & Parker book- there is two of us to be entertained and the blurb sounded cute!
15. Passport- this is a MAJOR essential otherwise I will not be boarding the plane!
16. Design book- I may feel creative +20,000 metres high in the sky?!
Well, we hope you like this post and we are extremely excited about going on holiday! When we are back, there will be a lot of posts from our holiday, so keep an eye out for them!

The Little Black Book Of Style- Book Review

The Little Black Book Of Style- written by Nina Garcia and illustrated by Ruben Toledo. This book is the most informative book I have read so far about fashion. Nina gives you advice about being yourself and showing your personality through your style. My favourite chapter is chapter 6; this is because it acknowledges the time eras from the 1920s up to the 2000s, telling you what you should know in that time period within the trends and designers that highlighted that era! Also my favourite chapter is chapter 2 which basically tells you staple pieces you need to invest in....I like this chapter a lot because it has a lot of excuses for me to make for when I 'need' to buy a staple item that may be a little (a lot)  expensive! Although I have stated my favourite parts of the book I absolutely love every page of it, I have learnt quite a bit from this book that is essential to understand in the fashion industry so I recommend to anyone wanting to work in the fashion industry and/or wanting to adapt to their style. The only thing I would change about this book is to add images of the people  Nina Garcia mentioned when she stated her favourite look on them (only as I had to type in on google images the people she was presenting).

Short Hairstyles w/ Caitlin

Casual...

Dutch braid pony. This is a bit more glam for casual, however it is so quick to create that its the best for everyday! Especially when you want your hair out of your face.
The messy pony. Caitlin is one of those blessed people that can just chuck there hair up in a pony without looking in a mirror but still look cool. This hairstyle is great if you wake up late and are in a rush, all you have to do is spray some dry shampoo and throw up.

Special Occasions...
The slick back plus plaits. Now this look is a bit more time consuming however the end result is worth it. So first I straightened my hair, then used the VO5 styling gum, this product works wonders when you dry your hair after putting it in. Like it says its easy to define and style which I totally agree with. After that I plaited the two sides of my hair.

The side paten straight hair. For a special occasion straight hair is so simple but looks great with a nice dressy up outfit. Oh and lets not forget a red lip or smoky eye with a nude lip *inserts love heart face emoji*.

Products used:
Bed Head Masterpiece hair spray

If you want to see another four hairstyles then check out the post we have done on Caitlin's blog.

Zara Culottes edit #1

I absolutely love these Zara culottes! The wide leg, stripes and drawstring waist are so flattering and sooo unique! These culottes just shout what my style is like- trendy but daring! This outfit just makes me think Parisian with the red Topshop bag changed to the black slim clutch from H&M. I wore this outfit with my Missguided cut out black flats however, the day I took these photos Kirsty was not present so I had to do it on my own with the help of a pile of books as a tripod.... anyway, I basically couldn't get my whole outfit in shot (inserts sad face.) But it doesn't mean you wont see these again as I will be doing an OOTD with them properly in September!

Topshop OOTD

I love this OOTD because it is very me....the stripes, the wide leg trousers, the tan colour, oh and the halter neck crop top! This outfit is very modernised 70's. The vertical stripes make any outfit interesting but also sneakily slims down everyone's figure. Also, I find these trousers flattering on me due to my long legs as it shows them off a bit more. The halter neck crop top makes me feel feminine and not butch around my shoulders. I find this OOTD very daring but so worth it!
Crop top- Topshop
Wide leg trousers- Topshop
Sandals- Missguided
